In the decade to come, when we will see an influx of young people joining the workforce, it is imperative that leaders who have been highly successful in the people management aspect of their businesses lend their experiences to what will be a new way of organizational management. What the pandemic started, the millennial workforce will want to carry on: hybrid work structures, smaller offices, flexi work hours and online discussions and meetings. Together with Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, the road forward will be one where things that usually work may not be effective any longer. This is why a large depositary of corporate management know-how is needed. The more heads we have to put together to share people management insight the better, and the more young leaders we get to join the conversation, the more pertinent the outcomes. Corporate leadership looking forward is about learning how to understand a new generation of staff and co-workers, hearing and harnessing the need for instant gratification, while continuing the drive for excellence in whichever field we are engaged in.
